In this study, transtympanic ECochG and simultaneous conventional ABR recordings are made to compare the sensitivity of N of ECochG with wave I and wave V of ABR, to measure l-V IPL, and to confırm the I-V IPL of patients lacking a reliable wave I in the conventional ABR recordings of normal hearing patients Amplitude of Nl is remarkably higher than amplitudes of wave I and wave V of ABR and the latencies of wave 1 and N1 are quite close to each other for the normal hearing population. Simultaneous recording of ECochG and ABR enabled us to measure N-V IPL of the hearing impaired patients with unilateral sensorineural hearing loss between 1993 and 1995 are done and the advantages of this recording method are discussed.
