Two Separate Diagnosis for the Patient with a Neck Mass: Castleman Disease and Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma: Case Report

ABSTRACT
While investigating the etiology of a neck mass of 48-year old female patient, a micro nodule suspicious for papillary carcinoma was determined in the
thyroid gland. As a result of surgery (total thyroidectomy plus modified radical neck dissection) thyroid pathology was reported as papillary thyroid micro carcinoma and the neck mass was reported as Castleman disease. In this presentation we presented and discussed that, two different pathologies may be
seen at the same time in a patient admitting with a neck mass.

ÖZET
Boyunda kitle ile başvuran 48 yaşında bir kadın hastada, kitle etiyolojisi araştırılırken tiroid bezinde papiller tiroid karsinomu şüphesi gösteren mikro
nodül saptandı. Yapılan operasyon sonucu tiroid bezindeki lezyonun papiller mikro karsinom, boyundaki kitlenin ise Castleman Hastalığı olduğu rapor edildi.
Biz bu sunumda boyunda kitle ile başvuran bir hastada, iki ayrı patolojinin birlikte görülebileceğini literatür bulguları ile tartıştık.
