ABSTRACT
Although branchial cleft cysts (BCC) are common, primary cancers are rare. Generally squamous cell carcinoma is seen in BCC. The diagnosis of branchial carcinoma is established by excision of the lesion and then demonstrating the sinus-tract relationship on histopathological examination of the mass. Diagnosis is supported by immunohistochemical studies. In this article, we reported a 56-year-old male patient, which has admitted to our clinic with swelling on the left side of the neck for a long time that we operated with the diagnosis of the branchial cleft cyst, but the histopathology reported as papillary carcinoma.
