TECHNIQUES OF FIXATIONS OF THE FRACTURES OF THE MANDIBLE

ABSTRACT
Various fixation techniques are used for fractures of the mandible. We have treated 33 cases of mandible fracture in our clinic. 17 intermaxillary and 8 interosseous wire fixation were used, in 5 patients simple wiring araund the teeth, in 3 patients metal plate fixation were employed. Class l malocclusion was in 3 patients, 2 of which were treated by selective abrading. There were no cases of non-union, osteomyelitis or ankylosis of the temperomandibular joint. it was observed that metal plate fixation was well tolerated by the patients.

ÖZET
Mandibula fraktürlerinde çeşitli tesbit yöntemleri uygulanmaktadır. Biz kliniğimizde 33 mandibula fraktürûnü tedavi ettik. 17 intermaksiller fiksasyon 8 interosseöz tel ile tesbit, 5 hastada dişlerin çevresinden direkt tel ile tesbit, üç hastada metal plak ile fiksasyon yapıldı. Üç hastamızda klas l maloklüzyon oluştu. Bunlardan ikisi selektif yontma yöntemi ile giderildi. Non-union, osteomyelit veya temperomandibuler eklem ankilozu yoktu. Metal plak fiksasyonunun hastalar tarafından iyi tolere edildiği gözlendi.
