ACCOUSTIC NEUROMA EXCISION BY TRANSLABYRINTHINE APPROACH

ABSTRACT
In Ankara Numune Hospital 2nd ENT Clinic, 7 acoustic neuroma cases who were operated by translabyrinthine approach between 1991-1997 was presented. The average hearing loss was 62.4 dB. Tumor size was smaller than 2 cm in one patient, between 2-4 cm in 5 patients and larger than 4 cm in one patient. There was no intraoperative complication. In postoperative period; facial palsy (House-Brackmann grades 7 H- V and wound dehissence were occurred in two patients. All patients were followed for an average of 27 months (3-74) and no secondary operation was planned for residuel or recurrent tumor. Cerebrospinal fluid leak, meningitis or exitus were not observed in any patients.

ÖZET
Ankara Numune Hastanesi 2. KBB kliniğimizde 1991-1997 yılları arasında akustik nörinom nedeniyle translabirentin eksizyon yapılan 7 hasta sunuldu. Hastalarda ortalama işitme kaybı; 62.4 dB idi. Tümör boyutları; 2 hastada 2 cm ve altında, 4 hastada 2-4 cm arasında, l hastada ise 4 cm\'den büyüktü. İntraoperatif komplikasyon gelişmedi. Postoperatif 2 hastada Grande 11 V fasial paralizi (House-Brackmann) ve yara açılması gelişti. Hastalar ortalama 27 ay (3-74) süreyle takip edilmiş olup; hiçbir hastaya rekürrens veya rezidü nedeniyle 2. bir operasyon planlanmadı. Hiçbir hastada BOS kaçağı, menenjit, ölüm gözlenmedi.
