ABSTRACT
Variations and anomalies of the internal carotid artery should be kept in mind during neck dissection. We presented a case who was operated for advanced stage squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx. Initially, we performed total laryngectomy and radical neck dissection. Six weeks later, we operated opposite side of neck and we inspected an anomaly about the internal carotid artery.
Although it is well known that such anomalies may be present, those may mislead surgeon in certain circumstances.

ÖZET
İnternal karotid arterin seyrine ait varyasyon ve anomalilerin boyun diseksiyonları sırasında akılda tutulması gerekelidir. İleri evre larenks yassı hücreli karsinomu nedeniyle total larenjektomi ve radikal boyun diseksiyonu uyguladığımız hastamıza, 6 hafta sonra uyguladığımız karsı boyun terapötik boyun diseksiyonu sırasında karsılastığımız internal karotid artere ait anomaliyi sunuyoruz. Bu tür anomaliler olabileceği iyi bilinmesine rağmen, bazı özel durumlarda cerrahı yanıltabilir.
