ABSTRACT
Castleman disease is a reactive hyperplasia of lymph nodes with unknown etiology. This benign disorder frequently affects the mediastenum with the second most common site being the head and neck. It also occurs in other areas of the body, usually where lymph nodes are normally found. There are two histologic subtypes: the hyaline-vascular type and plasma cell type. We present a case of Castleman’s disease (hyaline-vascular type) involving the parotid of a 16-year-old boy for its rare localization and rapid clinical progress.

ÖZET
Castleman hastalığı etiyolojisi bilinmeyen reaktif lenf nodu hiperplazisidir. Bu benign hastalık en sık mediastende, ikinci sıklıkla bas-boyun bölgesinde görülür. Lenf nodlarının normalde bulunduğu vücudun diğer bölgelerinde de ortaya çıkabilir. İki histolojik tipi vardır: hyalen-vasküler tip ve plazma hücreli tip. 16 yasında erkek çocukta parotis bezinde hyalen-vasküler tip Castleman hastalığını, sık karsılasılmayan lokalizasyonu ve hızlı klinik seyri nedenleri ile sunduk.
