ABSTRACT
Necrotizing fasciitis (NF) is a rapidly progressive soft tissue infection with high mortality and morbidity. Disease is seldom in head and neck region and it usually originates from dental and pharyngeal infections. Successful treatment of servical NF is based on early diagnosis, prompt use of broad spectrum antibiotics and surgical debridement. In this report a successfully treated servical NF case of dental origin is presented and clinical features, pathogenesis and treatment of the disesase is briefly discussed.

ÖZET
Nekrotizan fasiit (NF), mortalite ve morbiditesi yüksek, hızlı ilerleyen bir yumusak doku enfeksiyonudur. Bas boyun bölgesinde nadir olarak görülür, genellikle dis ve farenks kökenli enfeksiyonlardan sonra gelismektedir. Servikal NF tedavisinde basarıyı etkileyen faktörler; erken tanı, uygun antibiyoterapi, cerrahi debridmandan olusmaktadır. Bu makelede dis çekimi sonrası boyunda NF gelisen bir olgu sunulmus; hastalığın klinik özellikleri, patogenezi ve tedavisi literatür esliğinde tartışılmıştır.
