Desmoid tumors arise from the fibroblastic proliferation of musculoaponeurotic cells. Although it is histologically benign, it has an aggressive clinical behavior by local infiltration among fascial planes. It is mostly seen in abdominal region and after trauma, however, it is rarely seen in head and neck region. Recurrence rate is very high, even after wide surgical excision with negative margins. We report a patient operated with the diagnosis of neurofibroma who had a recurrence on her follow up. The patient was reoperated and diagnosed as desmoid tumor. Tumoral mass, which was impossible to be excised totally was regressed after radiotherapy.

Desmoid tümör, muskuloaponörotik hücrelerin fibroblastik değisime uğraması sonucu ile olusan, histolojik olarak benign karakterli olmasına rağmen fasiyal planlar arasında yayılarak klinik açıdan agresif olabilen bir tümör türüdür. Sıklıkla travma sonrası ve abdominal bölgede gelisen bu tümör, bas boyun bölgesinde çok nadir olarak izlenir. Negatif cerrahi sınırlarla birlikte genis cerrahi eksizyon yapılsa bile, yüksek oranda nükslere rastlanmaktadır. Bu yazımızda daha önce boyunda nörofibroma tanısı ile ameliyat edilen, ancak takiplerinde nüks gözlenerek tekrar opere edilen ve desmoid tümör teshisi alan hastamızı sunmaktayız. Total eksizyonu mümkün olmayan tümöral kitleye radyoterapi uygulanmıs ve olumlu cevap alınmıstır.
