ABSTRACT
Styloid process elongation is a pathology that can be seen commonly though symptomatic cases are infrequent. It is usually misdiagnosed with the symptoms of foreign body feeling in the throat and the pain radiating to the ear and neck. A case of styloid process elongation excised transorally is presented in this paper. Because of this clinically typical case; history, embryology, symptoms, differential diagnosis and treatment modalities of the styloid process elongation are also discussed.

ÖZET
Stiloid proses elongasyonu toplumda sık rastlanılan fakat çok az kişide semptomatik olan bir patolojidir. Boğazda yabancı cisim hissi, kulağa ve boyuna yayılan ağrı gibi şikayetler oluşturur ve çoğunlukla yanlış tanılar konularak tedavi edilmeye çalışılır. Makalede stiloid proses elongasyonu nedeniyle transoral yoldan ameliyat edilmiş bir vaka sunulmuştur. Klinik görünümü tipik olan bu vaka dolayısıyla stiloid prosesin embriyolojisi, anatomisi ile hastalığın tarihçesi, semptomları, ayırıcı tanısı ve tedavi seçenekleri tartışılmıştır.
