ABSTRACT
Ectopic lingual thyroid, which occurs due to the defective descent of thyroid tissue to its normal pretracheal position along the thyroglossal duct, is a rare congenital anomaly. A 16 year old female patient admitted to our clinic with complaints of swelling on the base of the tongue, foreign body sensation in the throat, dysphonia and snoring. She was diagnosed as having ectopic lingual thyroid and received suppression therapy with L-thyroxine (0,1mg/day) and after 3 months she was completely symptom free.

ÖZET
Ektopik lingual tiroid, tiroid dokusunun tiroglossal duktus boyunca normal pretrakeal pozisyonuna inmesindeki defekte bağlı olarak ortaya çıkan nadir konjenital bir anomalidir. Çalışmada, dil arkasında şişlik, boğazda yabancı cisim hissi, konuşma bozukluğu, horlama şikayetleri ile kliniğimize başvuran ve ektopik lingual tiroid tanısı konan 16 yaşındaki bayan hasta sunulmuştur. Hastaya L-tiroksin (0,1mg/gün) ile süpresyon tedavisi uygulanmış ve 3 ay sonra şikayetlerinin tamamen gerilediği izlenmiştir.
