ABSTRACT
Radiotherapy has similar survey rates with surgery in the management of the early glottic carcinomas. Radiotherapy is preferred when the patient refuses the surgical treatment and preservation of the voice guality is required. In this study, morphologic features and vibratory functions of the vocal folds were investigated by videolaryngostrohoscopy in 24 patients with glottic carcinoma treated with radiotherapy. It is observed that, radioherapy causes hyperemia (62,5 %), fıbrosis (33,3 %) or edema (29,2%) of the vocal fold tissue which results in vibratory disfunction and disapperance or decrease of mucosal wave in 83% patients.
