The prick test reactivity has been a principal diagnostic tool in clinical allergy. The purpose of this in investigation was to evaluate the relationship between prick test reactivity and count of eosinophils in the nasal smear. There was also a poor relation between skin test result and nasal smear eosinophil counts for patients who were found to be positive on skin testing. It was councluded that a clinical evaluation with the help of a good history and physical examination and positive skin test results are enough for the diagnose and treatment of allergic diseases. But, nasal smear eosinophil counts could be helpfull.

Allerjik rinitli hastalarda etyolojiyi araştırmaya yönelik testler içinde prick testi en çok kullanılan tam aracıdır. Bu araştırmanın amacı prick testi reaksiyonu ile nazal smear eozinofil sayısı arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırmaktır. Pozitif deri test reaksiyonu olan hastalarda nasal smear eozinofil sayısı ile deri testi arasında zayıf bir ilişki bulundu. Allerjik hastalıkların tanı ve tedavisinde dikkatli fizik muayene ve anamnez ile iyi bir klinik ayırımın ve pozitif deri testi mevcudiyetinin yeterli olabileceği, ancak nazal smear eozinofil sayısının tespitinin yardımcı olarak kullanılabileceği kanısına varıldı.
