A survey of the diagnostic value of fine needle aspiration cytology in ENT practice was carried out over a 3-year period. The 270 aspirates were taken from a variety of head and neck sites excluding thyroid and examined by the same patholog. Cytology was accurate 81.58 % in histopathologically malignant lesions and 88.6 % in benign lesions, with 2 false negative (1.16 %) and no false positive results, There were no complications and the technique was found to be a rapid, safe and cost-effective diagnostic tool.

Kulak burun boğaz hastalıkları pratiğinde ince iğne aspirasyon biyopsi (İİAB) \'sinin tanıdaki etkinliği üç yılı aşkın bir sürede araştırıldı.
