Tracheal foreign bodies are rarely seen in adults. A 75 year–old female who had fallen down from a tree had undergone emergen- cy tracheotomy due to dyspnea. Later she was referred to our clinic with suspicion of tracheal stenosis when she could not tole- rate decannulation. In direct laryngoscopy, a foreign body (sponge) covered with mucosa was seen which obliterated the tracheallumen above the level of tracheotomy. The foreign body was taken out and the granulation tissue in the lumen was excised, and a Montgomery–T tube was placed. This interesting case of iatrogenic tracheal foreign body is presented with a literature review.

Trakea yabancı cisimleri eriskinlerde oldukça nadir görülür. Yüksekten düsme sonucu acil olarak trakeotomi açılan 75 yasında bayan hasta dekanülasyonu tolere edemeyince trakeal stenoz ön tanısıyla kliniğimize sevk edilmistir. Direkt larengoskopide trakeotomi seviyesinin hemen üstünde lümeni tamamen oblitere eden mukoza ile kaplı yabancı cisim (gaz tampon) görüldü. Yabancı cisim çıkarılarak lümen içindeki granülasyon dokuları temizlendi ve stenozu önlemek için Montgomery T tüp yerlestirildi. İyatrojenik trakeal yabancı cisim olgusu ilginç olduğu düsünülerek literatür esliğinde sunulmustur.
