Serous otitis media (SOM) wihich etiopathognesis is not clearly identified yet, is still subjected to a lot of investigations in field of allergy, immunology and otorhinolaryngology. In the etiology many factors blamed as atopy, pathologies causing nazofarengeal mass, barotrauma and radiotherapy to the head and neck region. But in the literature, the studies about the etiopathogenesis of SOM in adults is not seen much. In t his article, we presented the evaluation of 74 adults cases with SOM in respect of possible risk-etiologic factors and the result of immunologic, radiologic, and histopathologic findings in Gülhane Military Medical Academy, Department of ENT between the dates of 1992 and 1995.

Etyopatogenezi hala tam aydınlatılamamış olan seröz otitis media (SOM) allerji, immünoloji ve otorinolarengoloji içinde halen birçok araştırmaya konu olmaya devam etmektedir. Etyolojide atopik bünye, nazofarenkste kitle oluşturan patolojiler, barotravma, baş ve boyun bölgesine uygulanan radyoterapi gibi birçok faktör suçlanmaktadır. Ancak literatüre bakıldığında, etyopatogenezi tartışmalı olan yetişkin SOM\'sı ile ilgili çalışmaların oldukça az olduğunu görmekteyiz. Bu makalede, Gülhane Askeri Tıp Akademisi KBB Anabilim Dalı\'nda 1992-1995 yılları arasında SOM teşhis edilen 74 olgu, SOM\'nın etyopatognezinde sorumlu tutulan risk-etyolojik faktörler, immünolojik, radyolojik ve histopatolojik araştırma sonuçlarına göre değerlendirilmiştir.
