ABSTRACT
This study was performed to examine the importance of adenoid tissue mast cells and their effect on developing of otitis media with effusion. Mast cells in adenoid tissue of 20 EOM and 20 control group was counted after adenoidectomy. Totally mast cell number of EOM group was higher than control group but there was no statistical difference between them.

ÖZET
Bu çalışma adenoid dokusundaki mast hücresinin önemi ve Effüzyonlu Otitis Media (EOM) gelişimindeki önemini araştırmak amacıyla planlandı, 20 EOM ve adenoid hipertrofisi olan hasta ile kontrol grubu olarak sadece adenoid hipertrofîsi olan 20 hastanın adenoid dokusundaki mast hücre sayısı değerlendirildi. Toplam mast hücre sayısı EOM\'li grupta yüksek olmasına rağmen istatistiksel olarak fark bulunamadı.
