ABSTRACT
Epidermoid cysts, or epidermal cysts, are common lesions
on the skin. Epidermal cysts may develop due to epithelial implantation
of superficial epidermal tissue into dermis or subcutaneous
tissue. Primary epidermal cysts of salivary glands are very rare. It is
important because it could be easily mistaken for a salivary gland neoplasms
in radiological imaging. We present a rare case of a 49-year-old
woman presenting with a soft swelling on the left side of the face in
the parotid gland.

ÖZET
Epidermoid kist veya diğer adıyla epidermal kist, ciltte sık görülen
lezyonlardır. Epidermal kistler yüzeyel epidermal dokunun dermis
veya subkütan dokuya implantasyonu sonucu gelişir. Tükürük bezlerinin
primer epidermal kistleriyse çok nadir görülür ve radyolojik olarak
parotisin kistik maligniteleri ile karışabilmesi nedeni ile ayrıca önemlidir.
Yüzün sol tarafında yumuşak bir şişlik ile başvuran 49 yaşındaki
kadın olguda saptanan ve nadir görülen parotis epidermoid kist vakasını
sunuyoruz.
