Nasopharyngeal, Laryngeal and Tracheal Amyloidosis

ABSTRACT
Amyloidosis is a rare, idiopathic disease and is characterised by the accumulation of
anormal extracellular protein. Amyloidosis can be hereditary or acquired, localised or systemic and
potentially lethal or appear as an incidental sign. Localised amyloidosis mostly occurs in the larynx
and lungs. Amyloidosis is rarely seen in the larynx. In this article, We present a patient who applied
to our clinic with symptoms of hoarseness and foreign body sensation in the throat and diagnosed
with nasopharyngeal, laryngeal and tracheal amyloidosis.

ÖZET
Amiloidoz; ekstraselüler fibriler protein depozitlerinin anormal birikimiyle karakterize,
nadir, idiyopatik bir hastalıktır. Amiloidoz; kalıtsal/kazanılmış, lokalize/sistemik, potansiyel ölümcül/
rastlantısal bir hastalık olarak karşımıza çıkabilmektedir. Lokalize amiloidozun en sık görüldüğü
yerler akciğerler ve larenkstir. Amiloidoz, larenkste nadir olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu
çalışmada, boğazda ses kısıklığı ve yabancı cisim hissi şikâyetleri ile kliniğimize başvuran ve nazofarenks,
larenks ve trakea amiloidozu tanısı alan bir olgunun sunulması amaçlanmıştır.
